Lafayette’s boys volleyball has played well and are using all of their strengths to procede through to State. The Lancers have defeated numerous teams since entering the post-season. Last night, May 14, Lafayette defeated Oakville 2-0 at Eureka. They’ve combined for a 30-6 and will try their luck against Mehlville, who have had an equally strong season.
Seniors Alex Moll and Mike Chard have had successful seasons. Chard has led the way serving-wise and Moll has 16 aces this season. Success up to this point wouldn’t have been possible without these contributions. Not only has Chard carried the weight serving-wise (serving nearly 95%), but the fact that he has 400 attacks to go with it is stunning.
Of course it’s a team effort and without the role players, the team wouldn’t have garnered any success. Junior John Morrell will be one of the Lancers top players next season, as he has already stood out due to his defensive ability.
Ryan Mueller has done well off the bench in his final season at Lafayette.
Fellow senior Jake Steinberg has competed solid also. His 6’6 frame helps him cover ground and easily play middle blocker.
Let’s hope Lafayette’s season isn’t derailed by Mehlville tommorow and they can proceed on to win State.

![Watching a small group scrimmage, Ben Lundt, St. Louis City SC goalkeeper and founder of Lundt Pro Soccer Training, shouts words of encouragement to players on Sunday, April 26 n the Lafayette grass soccer field. “The idea behind [the event] was to bring the professional soccer players closer to the community because usually people only get to see us on TV or in the stadium. [Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)

Brown won his bout against junior Kobe Rhymes of North Kansas City High School by fall in just 41 seconds. "Carter does what Carter does.
