Despite waiting two days to start Districts because of rain, the Lancers took care of business on May 17 with an 8-5 win over Washington. Senior Drue Bravo started on the mound and, after giving up three runs in the first two innings, settled in to pitch a complete game.
After going down 3-0 in the top of the second, the Lancers cut the lead to 3-1 in the bottom half and then tied it on a two-run single by junior Will Dupont with the bases loaded. They would take the lead an inning later when junior Tyler Manne singled to drive in senior Khalfani Mar’Na. Senior Drew Gress added some insurance with the team’s second bases-loaded hit of the game, this one giving the Lancers a 6-4 lead. Senior Sean McIntyre and junior Anders Fladda also each had an RBI.
“It was a big win nice to come back. The Lancers are hot right now,” Dupont said.
Lafayette continues District play tonight with a second round game against Pacific (19-3) at Ballwin Athletic Association. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

![Watching a small group scrimmage, Ben Lundt, St. Louis City SC goalkeeper and founder of Lundt Pro Soccer Training, shouts words of encouragement to players on Sunday, April 26 n the Lafayette grass soccer field. “The idea behind [the event] was to bring the professional soccer players closer to the community because usually people only get to see us on TV or in the stadium. [Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)
