At the 2023 Prom, Class of 2023 graduates Joe Marlo and Will Barry stay at the edge of the main floor to do their dancing. Because the small dance floor was the most crowded area, many students gathered around the edges with friends or in small groups.

Boys track starts off season with high placements

Opening up the season, the Lafayette varsity boys track team won a Tri-Meet with Parkway Central and Pattonville.

This past Saturday, the varsity boys fell short by two points to Marquette in the Suburban West Conference Relays. However, the junior varsity team placed first overall.

According to senior Thomas Swoboda, member of the school record-breaking 4×200 relay team, the 300 hurdles placed first alongside the shuttle hurdles and the 4×100 relay.

Head Coach Randy Seagrist noted some of the team’s strongest assets include hurdle runners Chris Caldwell and Chris Orange, distance runners Kurtis Harshman and Derek Legenzoff and long and triple jumpers Cameron Carrol and Markuise Savage.

The team will compete at U City on April 16.

Swoboda said, “Hopefully we can place high as a team because this meet is usually one of the biggest meets all season.”
