Social Studies teacher Steve Klawiter will have his AP World History class take the digital exam this May. He said he looks forward to seeing how his students will perform on the exam. “Its been very clear theyre moving towards digital. Since the pandemic started, theyve been putting the pieces in place to go digital, Klawiter said. “I think that ultimately it’s going to be more beneficial because with systems like Canvas and Google Classroom, students are used to more digital activities and less handwriting activities.”

Football uses all-around effort in win over Fox

For the second straight week, the Lafayette defense held strong while the offense exploded for 40 points. On Oct. 1, the Lancers defeated Fox 45-6 on the road and improved to 3-3 on the season.

Their six touchdowns were scored by six different players as junior quarterback Dominic Bisesi led the way with 247 of the team’s 415 total yards. His primary target was junior Tyler Manne, who had five catches for 109 yards.

After a scoreless first quarter for both teams, the Warriors went up 6-0 on a short score by Jimmy Huskey and a missed extra point. But that’s all they would get, as the Lancers responded with senior Al Nesbit’s 1-yard touchdown run and never looked back.

Bisesi accounted for the next two scores on passes to Manne and junior Brock Behrndt for 56 and 9 yards, respectively. The Lancers finished things off with three short rushing touchdowns by senior John Voigt and sophomores Deonte Robinson and Shacquille Holley. Senior Max Zaun also added a field goal in between.

The Lancers were equally impressive on defense, allowing just 125 total yards and forcing three fumbles. Juniors Ben Perez and Michael Mueller were especially active, combining for 19 tackles on the night. Nesbit, Perez and junior Sam Baker each recovered a fumble.

With the win, the team is now third in the Suburban West standings. Their next two opponents are Conference foes Oakville and Parkway West on Homecoming week. The Oct. 8 contest against the Tigers is a road game, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
