In the first game of their two-game series against Rockwood Summit, Lafayette walked away with a 4-1 loss Friday, Feb. 20 at Centene Community Ice Center. Both teams will meet again at the center to play the second game of the Wickenheiser Cup semifinal matchup, Saturday, Feb. 21 at 1:30 p.m.
The Falcons began the Friday night game with their first goal coming early in the first period to make the score 1-0.
After much back-and-forth play from both teams, Summit scored 3 consecutive goals through the second and third periods until Lafayette junior defenseman Quentin Parks scored with 5:47 left in the game to make the final score 4-1.
“I think the team’s performance tonight was mediocre, there’s a lot to improve on for tomorrow’s game and a lot of effort to be put in by everyone,” Parks said.
