A kill by senior outside hitter Maya Witherspoon during the first set helped the Lafayette girl’s volleyball team beat Eureka 3-1, at Lafayette High School, to win the district finals.
The Lancers started the game strong winning the first two sets, 25-12, and 25-7. The Wildcats would win a close third set, 28-26, but Lafayette went on to win the fourth set, 25-13, crowning them District Champions. This is their fourth District Title in a row.
Lafayette will play Jackson High School, Nov. 2, in the State Quarterfinals. The Lancers look to three-peat, after having won the last two State Championships.
