On April 8, during the eclipse, librarians, Jane Lingafelter and Robin Van Iwaarden, look at the sun using solar viewers, while on the field. Students and staff spent time on the field during the eclipse. The next partial eclipse in Missouri wont be till 2045.

Hockey bounces back after loss; basketball, wrestling prepare for season

Weekly Sports Update Nov. 13-19

Boys Basketball

As winter sports begin, boys basketball is entering their preseason and had a scrimmage tournament, Nov. 15. Head Coach Bryan Keim is looking forward to the upcoming season. “These guys compete and work really hard every day to be their best. We’re excited about the opportunities that lie ahead,” Keim said. Their first game is scheduled for Nov. 21, where they will be playing away at Seckman.

Girls Basketball

The Lady Lancer had a scrimmage tournament, Nov. 16, in preparation for their season. Their season opener will be at Parkway South, Dec. 5.

Boys Wrestling

The Lancers will kick off their season with the Black and Gold Scrimmage, an intrasquad scrimmage. Their first meet will be against Francis Howell Central, Nov. 29.

Girls Wrestling

The Lady Lancers will also participate in the Black and Gold Scrimmage. And their first meet will also be against Francis Howell Central, N0v. 29.

Hockey

The Lancers went 1-1 this week. They first lost to Parkway South, 11-1, Nov. 13. They bounced back with a 4-0 win over Seckman, Nov. 17. Juniors Mack Freeman and Matthew Ridgeway both had 4 points in their win. The Lancers now have a record of 2-3. The Lancers have two games this week against local rivals. First against Marquette, Nov. 22., and then Parkway West, Nov. 24.
