The varsity volleyball team faced Conference rival Eureka at Eureka on Sept. 2.

The Lady Lancers were looking to improve their 1-1 record by picking up a win against the Wildcats.

The first set was a breeze for Lafayette as they won the first set 25-11. The second set came as a challenge, but the Lady Lancers eventually won the match when they took the second set 25-21.

“Beating a rival made me realize that everyone’s hard work and drive have been worth it,” senior Amanda Beaton, outside hitter, said. “As a team, we were excited and motivated.”

The team’s next match-up will be against the Seckman Jaguars as Lafayette will look to win the last game of a three game road-trip.

The game will take place at Seckman High School on Sept. 8 at 5:15 p.m.
