Lancers duel with Pioneers after win against Hawks
Lancers look to play Pioneers following win against the hawks.
After Lafayette won against Hazlewood Central last week, they must now go up against highly ranked Kirkwood.

Lafayette wins their first game of the season after a victory over highly ranked Hazelwood Central in Week 2 and also prepares to face Kirkwood on Sept 4.
Lafayette struck first after an interception (Dan Wagganer) put the Lancers on the Hazelwood Central 5-yard line which lead to a rushing touchdown (Tanner Grimm). Lafayette struck again on their ensuing drive with a 26-yard touchdown catch (Matt Welby) leading to a score of 13-0 in favor of the Lancers after a missed extra-point.
The Lancers Scored one more time in the 3rd quarter and after a failed two-point conversion increased their lead to 19-0. Hazelwood Central managed to score twice before the games end, leading to a final score of 19-14 and a Lancers win.
Lafayette looks for their second win of the season against Kirkwood. Matt Welby (WR), “Getting the first win took the pressure off, but we are still going to be on the hunt for win number two.”
The Lancers will have a tough game facing a state-ranked team for the third week in a row, but they look to win for the second time in three weeks.
