In July, the Lady Lancer Cheerleaders placed first in the St. Louis Regional Cheerleading Camp. They are headed to the State Competition in October where they will be competing against several tough Kansas City squads.
“If the girls do what they are supposed to do and what they are capable of, we have a great chance of winning,” Coach Crystal Gray said.
The State Competition is held in Columbia, MO this year at the Hearnes Center. The cheerleaders will compete on Oct. 20 and admission is $10 per person.
“To prepare for State, we have scheduled practices every day and every Saturday, including Homecoming. We are all really close this year and have faith in each other and our abilities,” senior cheerleader Marissa Wishy-Durham said.
