The Lady Lancers track and field team took third place at the Conference Track Meet on May 8 at Fox High School.
While spectators huddled beneath blankets in the stands, the Lady Lancers braved the cold and kept warm by working their hardest in all their events.
The team placed above seventh in 15 of 18 events, not placing in only the 100-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles and 100-meter dash.
The biggest success of Conference was senior Jessie Dantin, who placed first in both varsity shot put and discus with throws of 34 feet and 1.25 inches and 127 feet and 6 inches respectively. The only first place wins of the night, Dantin earned a total of of 20 points for the team.
The Lancers came in with a total of 123 points, behind first and second place winners Lindbergh High School with 129 points and Kirkwood High School with 157 points.
