Imagine the typical atmosphere of a rivalry football game, such as Marquette vs. Lafayette. Now imagine this atmosphere heightened with a DJ, giveaways, raffles and more.
Each week, the St. Louis Rams partners with the National Guard and Prairie Farms to recognize the “Game of the Week.” Schools have the opportunity to vote on one of four different rivalry games which will be broadcast live on 590 KFNS.
The Marquette @ Lafayette game on Friday, Sept. 7 has been chosen as one of these four games.
“There is a good possibility that a number of our students or our community members aren’t able to be here for that game, so they can at least tune into the radio and still be a part of what’s happening,” Activities Director Steve Berry said.
According to the High School Sports Caravan game of the week website, the winning game will feature “A live one-hour pre-game radio show on the High School Sports Caravan 590 KFNS. Featuring Rams representatives, giveaways, raffles and prizes.”
Also, a $2,000 grant will be presented to the winning team and the winning coach will be named the “Coach of the Week.” A “Player of the Week” will also be selected from the winning team.
“Anytime you can have your school represented in a public way like that is positive for the school and the school’s reputation,” Berry said.
Voting ends on Tuesday, Sept. 4 at midnight. Voting takes only a few moments and you can vote as many times as you want by simply refreshing the screen. Follow this link to vote for the Marquette @ Lafayette game:
