Preview: Drunk U Drama

The Supporting Teens at Risk (STAR) meeting for October 10, 2012 will be Drunk U Drama during second, third, fifth and sixth hours on the half day.

Associate principal Nisha Patel is the sponsor of the STAR organization.

“Fortunately this year, Drunk U Drama was able to take place during homecoming week to act as a reminder of the risks and dangers of drinking and driving,” Patel said.

The meeting will have two parts; the first part is outside where a reenactment of a car accident will take place. After the reenactment, students will come into the theatre which will be the informative part of the meeting.

Firefighters and paramedics will be in the theatre to talk to the students. They will discuss their point of view of the scene and describe to students the impact drinking will have on them and others involved.

“Students need to be aware of the risks and dangers involved in order for their night to be safe and responsible,” Patel said.

Passes will be given out during all lunch periods Oct. 8-9 during all lunch periods. The meeting is only for juniors and seniors.
