At the 2023 Prom, Class of 2023 graduates Joe Marlo and Will Barry stay at the edge of the main floor to do their dancing. Because the small dance floor was the most crowded area, many students gathered around the edges with friends or in small groups.

Monday lunch games give students chance to win Homecoming Tickets

To celebrate Homecoming, Student Council (STUCO) put on various games during each lunch shift, and gave points to winning student’s classes along with various other prizes.

On Monday, Oct. 8, participants had the chance to play Lick it or Ticket, Put it on a Cracker, Muddy Waters or Arm Wrestling and choose by shooting a target with a nerf gun.

In Lick it or Ticket, students were blindfolded then had to lick an unknown object to identify it. Similarly, participants of Put it on a Cracker had to eat a cracker topped with three foods and had to name them.

For Muddy Waters, students had to chug six chocolate milk cartons in 90 seconds. The final game was to arm wrestle senior Adam Echele.

Students who won any of these games received a free ticket for Homecoming.

“It was pretty easy, six chocolate milks in 90 seconds isn’t very tough,” senior Tommy Fahrenhorst said after winning Muddy Waters during second lunch.

Junior Joel Sandhu agreed after also winning Muddy Waters and said, “I feel pretty great, but I also have a brain freeze.”

Cody Van Iwaarden, senior, also won by correctly naming all three foods in Put in on a Cracker. Junior Ford Pittman, however, wasn’t able to correctly name the foods. He also lost his chance for redemption in Lick it for Ticket.

In third lunch, only senior Jake Steinberg was able to win his game, Muddy Waters.  Elliot Montgomery, senior, wasn’t able to complete the same game.

“I wasn’t really looking forward to the game because I hate chocolate milk,” he said. “I was trying to tune out the taste but it was just too disgusting.”

Seniors Sam St. Clair and Grant Willoughby also lost their games, Arm Wrestling and Lick it or Ticket respectfully, so all three were allowed to play Put it on a Cracker for a chance at redemption. Unfortunately, none of them were able to identify the correct foods.

“I’m a bit disappointed, I wanted those free tickets,” Willoughby said.
