Imagine walking into a Cardinals game wearing a signed David Freese World Series jersey. This could be you if you were to win the raffle of the signed David Freese jersey.
Raffle tickets will be on sale on Monday April 30 through Thursday May 4. Each ticket costs $5 and can be purhased during lunch or from Social Studies teacher Jay Buck any time during the day.
“We are working with a couple of our students who are doing a service project and we are raising money for the Joshua Chamberlain Society,” he said.
The charity raises money for severely wounded veterans.
“One [of these vets] has lost both of his arms and his legs and the government can provide assistance but they’re going to need more assistance in learning to drive and getting to their house,” Buck said.
The Joshua Chamberlain Society makes sure that these needs are met for severely wounded veterans.
According to Buck, the jersey was purchased by a parent. Students are encouraged to purchase raffle tickets and be entered into a drawing to win the jersey.
