At the 2023 Prom, Class of 2023 graduates Joe Marlo and Will Barry stay at the edge of the main floor to do their dancing. Because the small dance floor was the most crowded area, many students gathered around the edges with friends or in small groups.

MIOS Band Concert to take place Dec. 8

Thursday, Dec. 8, Lafayette will be hosting a Music in Our Schools (MIOS) Band Concert to showcase the talents of all the band students.

The concert will be held at 7 p.m. in the Commons and the Gym, according to Lafayette Band website.

Sophomore and band member Lucas Meyrer said that the concert is, “a chance for the high school bands and the middle school bands to play together and to show off different showcases and to see the new upcoming talent for the high school band.”

The entire Lafayette band will play different songs as a group.

“The MIOS concerts are fun because we play more pop music,” Meyrer said.

The band will be playing music from Pixar movies and several different Christmas songs.

“The pieces that we’re playing are very fun,” he said, “but it’s going to be a little bit of a challenge because typically in the band program there are two separate bands. Now we’re playing together so hopefully that transition goes well.”

“I think it’s going to go very well,” Meyrer said.
