Chick-Fil-A to host rival fundraiser between Lafayette, Marquette

Chick-Fil-A to host rival fundraiser between Lafayette, Marquette

Renaissance is a great way for students to be rewarded for all of their hard work.  A new program, Renaissance Restaurant of the Month, is a new fundraising technique that is designed to get students involved as well as benefit them.

The week of the Lafayette vs. Marquette football game, October 24-27, Chick-Fil-A in the Chesterfield Valley is hosting a Rivalry Fundraiser between the two schools.  On Monday, Oct. 24, Lafayette has its turn to get as many people out to Chick-Fil-A as they can, with Lafayette keeping 15 percent of the proceeds.  Tuesday, Oct. 25, Marquette has their turn to come out to see if they can get more proceeds than Lafayette.

The winner of the fundraising battle between the rival schools will be announced at the football game.  Whichever school raised the most money will get a $500 bonus as well as keeping the 15 percent proceeds from the night.  However, since this is an event benefiting Renaissance, both schools will get to keep their proceeds, no matter who wins or loses.

Matt Landwehr, Renaissance coordinator, explained, “We are trying to come up with new innovative ways to benefit our students, one of which being the Rivalry Fundraiser.”
