Two weeks ago, Metro Design Studios offered students a chance at a free updo in a raffle which they set up during lunch. The updo was intended to be given to those juniors and seniors going to prom.
Winners of the updo raffle were announced last week. They included seniors Leah Bartmess, Maddie Conklin and Katherine McGinty.
This wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for three local stylists, Susan Mapes, Kate Seeger and Jenna Treiber, who donated their services and time for the updo’s.
Conklin was pleased when she heard that she won because she wasn’t expecting it. But it turned out that Conklin didn’t need the updo, so she generously gave it to a friend.
Conklin said, “I was excited when I got it, but I already had a hair appointment set. So, I gave it to Hannah Boxerman, a sophomore, because she was going and I thought it would be nice to give it to her.”
