Recap: Lafayette percussion hosts concert

The 2010 fall Percussion concert titled, A Night of Percussion, was the third ever percussion concert to take place at Lafayette.

“When I started [working at LHS] we had 12 percussion students. Since I’ve been here, our program has grown to 30 students, ” percussion teacher  Jeremy Melton said.

The concert was heavy with African or African-influenced pieces.

“It’s very hard to find 11-member pieces, so we try to find some where everyone has something to do,” Melton said.

The concert consisted of the Symphonic and Wind Ensemble classes, lasting about 45 minutes.

Afterwards, there were refreshments for all who attended.
