During all three lunch shifts on Friday, Nov. 12, Fashion Construction I students, along with Fashion Design and Merchandising students put on the anual Fall FACS Fashion Show.
FACS teacher Erin Hagglund said the show has been taking place for several years, and there is one show during each semester.
For this particular show, the Fashion Construction I students modeled two of the projects they completed so far this year: pajama pants and bags.
When asked how long it took to complete these projects, freshman Shelby Fechter said, “My pajama pants took me about two weeks and my bag took a week.”
Students in Fashion Design and Merchandising created their own mini-lines of clothing and modeled one of their creations.
“They sketched out, from the start, their design ideas and then incorporated those and created one of the items,” Hagglund said.
The theme of the fashion show was “Masquerade,” so every time the models came on stage, they were wearing a different mask.
“It was fun because no one could see who you were,” Fechter said.
Hagglund said the idea for the Masquerade theme came from the Fashion Design and Merchandising students. Both the models and designers agreed the fashion show was a success.
“It [the fashion show] was a lot of fun and it felt like the audience had fun,” Fechter said.
