Social Studies teacher Steve Klawiter will have his AP World History class take the digital exam this May. He said he looks forward to seeing how his students will perform on the exam. “Its been very clear theyre moving towards digital. Since the pandemic started, theyve been putting the pieces in place to go digital, Klawiter said. “I think that ultimately it’s going to be more beneficial because with systems like Canvas and Google Classroom, students are used to more digital activities and less handwriting activities.”
Nine AP exams will transition to digital format in 2025, additional six in 2026

Near the cash registers, Buff City Soap has a collection of facial products and scents geared towards men, along with their recently introduced line of travel sized products. Buff City Soap is located in Chesterfield, about 15 minutes from Lafayette.

The first step in the door surrounds customers with a multitude of scents, coming from a constantly changing variety of products.

Buff City Soap, located off Clarkson Road in Chesterfield, supplies products made in store, which can be customized for customers. The store offers each product in three to four scents, but the employees can mix up a product in a different scent by request.

Shower fizzies create scented steam once the shower stream hits them. They can be used for multiple showers. Good Morning Sunshine, one of the scents, is advertised as ‘a cheerful splash of champagne and citrus fruits. This fresh, fizzy concoction awakens the senses and puts sunshine in your step,’ according to Buff City Soap’s website. (Samantha Haney)

The products include: laundry soap, soap bars, bath bombs, foaming hand soap, face soap, air fresheners and shower fizzies.

The Soap Makery, located to the right of the door, is where the scent of products can be customized. (Samantha Haney)

Each of the Buff City products are made daily with plant based ingredients according to their mission statement.

Along with selling products, Buff City Soap offers parties for customers to ‘make memories and custom mini bath bombs,’ according to their website.

Although there are standard scents sold throughout the country, each store carries three local scents that are occasionally created by their influencers.

Buff City Soap is open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday from noon-5 p.m.
