At the 2023 Prom, Class of 2023 graduates Joe Marlo and Will Barry stay at the edge of the main floor to do their dancing. Because the small dance floor was the most crowded area, many students gathered around the edges with friends or in small groups.

Out and About: The Galleria

Upon arriving at the Galleria on a Saturday afternoon I was struck with the sheer amount of people that had all decided to go there at the same time.

The parking lot was a sea of cars and it took nearly 15 minutes to find a parking spot.

Just entering the mall was a challenge all its own with the thousands of entrances and bustling people.

However, with how crowded the parking lot was the inside of the mall was decently populated. It did not seem nearly as crowded as the outside would have lead it to be.

Compared to the Chesterfield Mall, the Galleria was a whole different kind of shopping mall; it featured stores that I have never heard of but some of my favorites as well.

The whole atmosphere was different here; the giant pillars and vast fountain that looked almost like there was a lake in the middle of the mall gave the whole area a different feel.

The food court was very high class looking; at one end of the food court there were even couches and lounging areas. It wasn’t so much a cafeteria but a restaurant kind of feeling.

This mall offered a wide variety of cultures in regards to the people and the stores; I almost felt on the verge of underdressed in my t-shirt and Nike running shorts.

It appeared as if everyone dressed up in their most fashion worthy clothes to go shopping, that’s including the males as well.

This mall is huge, I don’t think walking around I even covered from one end to the other.

Although some stores I went into were large and comfortable with the traffic of people walking in and out, others such as GAP were too small and crowded.

With the crazy amount of people that wanted to browse the racks, I constantly felt as if I was in someone’s way.

Probably going to such a large mall on a Saturday afternoon was a bad idea with the amount of people but upon leaving the mall I noticed it was a bad day for someone else.

We all heard the ambulance and fire truck pull up outside the Cheesecake Factory, and watched as the paramedics rushed inside with a stretcher.

That was all I was able to see before it came time to go.

If you are not one that can handle large crowds and many noises, I would not suggest going to the Galleria because it can become overwhelming.

On the other hand, if you are one who loves that shopping atmosphere and a nonstop selection of stores, I would greatly suggest taking the ride out to the Galleria because it will be worth it.
