The 2016 season is moving along well for the Lafayette Lacrosse team.

“We’re right about at the midway point,” junior Bryce Horstman said.

The Lancers are 4-7, beating Parkway South and a team in Maryland over spring break, among others.

Lafayette has had several close games.

Horstman said it, “could have gone either way,” with losses at Parkway West and Eureka.

Horstman leads the team in shots, with 130, and he also leads the team in goals, with 38. Despite the fact that the Lancers only have a handful of seniors, the team is holding their own with their young talent. Even if the team doesn’t do well this year, they still have next year to look forward to with all the underclassmen coming up.

“We’ve won a couple and lost a couple, we’re very young this year though,” Horstman said.

Coming up are games against Vianney (1-10), a game at Chaminade (12-3) and a game against De Smet (9-2). The Lancers will look to go out strong in their last three games to propel them into the post-season. Be sure to come out and support the team in their upcoming game against Vianney at home on April 30 starting at 11 a.m.
