Boys soccer set to square off against Northwest
September 16, 2014
The season is still young for the Lancers, which gives them an opportunity to make a name for themselves in their district.
So far, the season has been solid for the team. Senior Connor Schene is currently leading the team in overall points, as well as goals, with 5 and 2, respectively. Junior Chris Roggenburg is also at the top of the stats sheet, leading the team in assists with 2.
The squad will face Northwest, a team which has given them some trouble in the past.
The Lions are currently down in the standings in the Suburban West Conference with a record of 1-3, while the Lancers stand higher up, with a record of 3-3-1.
Junior Chris Roggenberg feels that the Lancers will have to adjust if they want to bring home a win, saying “All we need to do is just play like a team.”
Despite the fact soccer is a team effort, individual contributions from players can go a long way.
“Guys like [seniors] Brendan Carnahan and Brian Flannery will make a big impact.”
The matchup against Northwest begins on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 6:00 p.m. at Lafayette.
There’s only one thing left to do for the Lancers: take home a win.
