Lafayette’s varsity boys basketball blew out the Mehlville Panthers 61-21 last Friday. Starting off strong, the Lancers went on a 32-6 run during the first half, and junior Nate Messer was the Lancers leading scorer, dropping 10 valuable points. Although Messer had a spectacular performance, senior Dylan Corbet was the one who everyone was watching.
The crowd began to chant “We want Corbet!” in the 4th quarter, as he’s only played in 6 games this season. Finally, he got his chance, and proceeded to throw up his first three pointer; however it clanked off the back of the iron. Hoping to not miss his second look, he knocked down his first three-ball of the season, and the crowd erupted.
Corbet said, “It was the best basketball atmosphere I’ve ever seen!”
Looking for their second straight win, the Lancers play Northwest next Tuesday. The game will take place at Northwest, and will begin at 7 p.m.

[Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)

Brown won his bout against junior Kobe Rhymes of North Kansas City High School by fall in just 41 seconds. "Carter does what Carter does.
