The Lafayette boys tennis season began last Monday, facing their Suburban West conference foe, the Parkway Central Colts. The squad did not fair well in their first contest this season being defeated 6 to 3 despite a solid effort.
On Tuesday, Lafayette rebounded and defeated the Kirkwood Pioneers 7-2. This marked their first overall team win of the season and hopes were high for their next match.
The Lancers would win their second straight by defeating the 1-1 Mehlville Panthers in a shutout, 9-0. The 2-1 Lancers will try and keep the winning streak alive in their next match this upcoming Saturday against Hickman and Rock Bridge High School in a tournament at Columbia, Missouri.
