With a two-game sweep of rival Eureka this week, the Lancers are now 6-4 on the season and have won five straight games.
In the series opener at Lafayette on April 12, senior pitcher Jake Busiek threw a complete game and gave up just three hits as the Lancers prevailed 7-1. The team got two RBI’s from junior Will Dupont and a home run by senior senior Sean McIntyre, while Busiek mowed the Wildcats down with seven strikeouts.
The team’s domination of Eureka came after a rough patch during which the Lancers gave up 11 twice over a four-game losing streak. Through it all, senior Ryan Mansfield and Dupont have lead the team in hitting with averages of .444 and .435, respectively.
