On Monday, Feb. 7, the Lady Lancers came out with a 58-50 victory as they traveled to St. Charles to take on Francis Howell Central. The team had been unable to hold onto a steady lead for much of the contest despite being backed by 30 points from junior Jordynn Martin and 16 from junior guard Ashley Hipp.
However, the fact that they had only six healthy players who were able to compete had been a dagger to the Lady Lancer’s game plan.
Four of the team’s 10 players are currently out with either injuries or illness which has made it a necessity for their bench to become more involved. Junior Emily Bush, who has only seen action in eight games so far this season, saw the floor consistently as she shared playing time with sophomore forward Hannah Finley. She even led the team in rebounding with four defensive boards.
“Emily is doing really well for not playing that much until now. She has a really good attitude about it and takes what we say really well,” Martin said.
The team’s win over the Spartans extends their record to 12-7 overall as they are 4-1 in league play.
Martin’s 19.5 points per game is good for second among the Suburban West scoring leaders, and junior Kayla Hall adds another 10.2 per contest.

[Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)
