As Districts continue for the Lady Lancers on their home floor, the team played host to long-time rival Marquette in a 67-47 victory.
Early on, the Lancers struggled to convert fast breaks into baskets as the Mustangs took hold of a 16-18 lead by the end of the first quarter.
However the Lady Lancers were able to quickly turn the tide as what was once a two point deficit transitioned into a 10 point lead by the break.
Junior guard Jordynn Martin led all scorers with a game-high 31 points as junior Kayla Hall also chipped in another 22 and added eight steals.
This marks the team’s second straight win over the Mustangs after defeating them by just two points in a preseason tournament earlier this year, and also extends their record to 16-8 overall. Martin’s 21 points per game is also good for third in the state.
After having a bye in the first round of Districts, the team will now be playing their Suburban West Conference co-champion Eureka in the Class 5, District 4 championship.
At 20-6 overall, Eureka will be led by junior center Alex Hillyer, who is currently averaging 20.7 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. Hillyer poses as the greatest potential threat for the Lady Lancer’s as they look to halt the Wildcats primary playmaker.
“I feel like if we can stop their guards before they ever get to her then she’s not going to beat us,” Martin said, “If she does catch then we need to double down.”

[Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)
