The results are in. Astronomers at the Minnesota Planetarium Society have confirmed that the 3,000 year old Babylonian astrological chart that the zodiac signs originate from is incorrect and has not accounted for the changes the Earth has experienced in the past.
By taking in the results of the earth and sun’s relationship, the astronomers have assigned new signs for many people. With the addition of the new sign, Ophiuchus, the new zodiacs have been forever changed.
For those of you who are not sure of what a zodiac sign is, here’s your answer. The sun traces a path across the constellations forming a circle in the sky called an ecliptic. The ecliptic is also the plane on which the earth revolves around the sun. The zodiac is a thin band of sky on either side on the ecliptic. There are 12 sections of 30 degrees on the ecliptic; these are your signs. Depending on when the sun enters each portion or aligns with certain constellations in the ecliptic, it determines what your zodiac is. Today, the sun is now in the Capricorn stage. Although, NBC reports and assures horoscope reading will not be affected
“Scientists say this rotation has been known about since 500 B.C. and the horoscope calendar hasn’t moved,” was reported on Jan. 12.
