A gameday guide to the Battle of 109
Gold Rush shirts are currently on sale at all lunches for $10.
August 24, 2011
After two years at Eureka, the Battle of 109 will shift back to Lafayette. To prepare for another crowd of nearly 6,000 fans, administrators have made special plans to ensure a smooth operation at the Aug. 26 game.
Here is some key information on how to navigate before and after the game, provided by Activities Director Steve Berry.
Tickets: Although tickets will be available at the gate for $5, Berry encourages students to purchase them during all lunch shifts starting on Aug. 24. The presale tickets also cost $5 and will ease congestion at the gate.
What to Wear: Unlike years past, students wearing the uniform of a Lafayette fall sports team will not be granted free entrance into the game. The same goes for the yellow Battle of 109 Gold Rush shirts that have been on sale by the Lafayette Football Booster Club at lunch. Only those wearing a Superfans shirt from this year will receive free entrance, and students who wish to body paint must show their shirt at the gate.
Where to Park: Contrary to what was reported in the Image on Aug. 19, extra parking will only be available at St. Alban Roe, located on Highway 109 across from Babler Elementary. Busses will shuttle fans to the Lafayette parking lot starting at 5:45 p.m.
How to Stay Informed: Superfans have set up a Facebook page called “Lafayette SuperFans 2011-2012” and the Twitter feed @LHSSuperFans. Follow both and listen to announcements at lunch for updates on tickets, tailgating and parking.

[Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)
