In the first round of Sectionals, the Lady Lancers were set to face national preseason number one, St. Joes Academy at the Farmington Civic Center.
The girls proved that they can play with at the Angels level earlier this season, when they dropped a tightly contested match 2-1.
The team dropped the first game by a final score 25-16. The second game however, was much tighter. The Lady Lancers forced the Angels to score 27 points to win by two and finish their season on Oct. 30.
The success of the team season this season cannot be denied, though. They were Conference champions for a Suburban West-record fourth year in a row, going undefeated in Conference play. The Lady Lancers also took home the District championship on Lafayette’s home floor without dropping a single game.
