Lady Lancers basketball looks to beat Mustangs after 4-16 record

Seth Boester, Sports Reporter

The 2013-14 season is not looking too well for varsity girls basketball. A 1-5 Conference record combined with an overall 4-16 record doesn’t bode well for any team.

Despite strong wins against Howell Central, 67-39, and the close 38-35 victory against Northwest, this season has proven to be one of the toughest yet after overcoming adversity right from the start.

Regarding stats, sophomore Maria Johnson leads the team with 160 points. When talking defense, sophomore Jenny Kohl leads the team in steals with 46, while her fellow sophomore Taylor Dent leads the team in rebounds with 111.

The Lady Lancers face off against Marquette on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14. Look for it to be an exciting match up.
