Boys track and field looks for success
April 10, 2014
The boys track and field team has performed well so far at the varsity level. Although they have not competed a whole lot, in the few meets they’ve had, they have been successful.
Sophomore Brendan Scales is one of Lafayette’s best shot-putters, aiming to break school records this season. He is within several feet of breaking the record so it’s fair to say it will be broken soon.
Sophomore Dylan Quisenberry said, “Scales is trying the break the schools record for shot-put. He’s only a sophomore and he is close to breaking it, so he definitely will soon.”
In the first meet of the season, at Lindbergh High School, they placed in first competing at a high level.
Several of the Lancers track and field members have had promising seasons, compiling good seasons so far. Quisenberry said, “Davon Williams and Alvin Houston have done really well this season.”
Quisenberry, one of the Lancers top runners, is seeking to win state for the mile run. He is also planning on competing well in his other events, the 800, and the 4×800 relay.
Their next meet is going to occur at University City High School. Hazelwood Central, the defending state champions, will be present at the meet this upcoming weekend.

[Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)
