Last Tues. May 14, the Lady Lancer soccer team defeated No. 2 seed Summit in the District 2 semifinals. With a final score of 1-0, sophomore Taylor Schneider used her back to execute a goal and brought home win for the Lancers.
Consistent with her pressure on offense, senior Ashley Parks created numerous opportunities for the team to make a shot at goal. Although Schneider was able to get the game-winning point, Parks used her strong and steady game play to tire out the Summit defensive line by the last half of the game.
Advancing to the District Championship, the girls will face top-seed Eureka on their home turf on Thurs. May 16 at 6p.m. The Lancer’s first game of the season against the Wildcats was a constant struggle to shut down Eureka powerhouse shooters, and ended with a score of 4-0.
Approaching the game with a “nothing to lose” attitude, Coach Tim Walters and the girls soccer team will look to find redemption against the Wildcats on their road to state.
“Eureka was a very tough team to play against in our first game of the season. We have improved so much as a team and bonded over the past couple weeks. Will are going to focus and continue doing what we’ve been doing and hopefully get a District title,” junior midfielder Natalie Quisenberry said.

[Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)
