Black, Olejnik place at State

Wrestlers senior Kyle Black and sophomore Nick Olejnik placed sixth and third respectively at the State tournament this weekend in Columbia.

These are the only two wrestlers to place at State out of the seven that qualified.

Olejnik is one of the very few State placers who was an underclassmen at the tournament.

Black, who missed much of the season due to injury, was happy that he placed, but disappointed he couldn’t have placed higher.

“I know I could’ve done better if I hadn’t missed six weeks of practice,” Black said.

Since he is a senior, Black has his college life ahead of him. When asked if he would wrestle in college, Black said, “Probably not. I doubt I would be able to keep up with the schedule and my classes.”
