After hosting the Susan G. Komen-sponsored “Stick it to Cancer” Breast Cancer Awareness game on Oct. 6 which raised nearly $1,400 in donations, the field hockey team is now headed off to Louisville, KY to compete in an overnight tournament.
The team last played on Oct. 6, defeating Parkway West 5-0 to extend their overall record to 12-1 which is good for first in the Suburban West. While in Louisville, the team will be up against Kentucky state champion Collegiate, as well as Kentucky Country and Mercy (KY) High School.
“I think it’ll be a good test for us. We’ve been playing some weaker competition so it’ll be nice to switch to some higher competition to challenge us a bit,” Head Coach Kate O’Connell said.
The tournament will take place at the University of Louisville with their first game set to begin on Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. against Collegiate.
