Social Studies teacher Steve Klawiter will have his AP World History class take the digital exam this May. He said he looks forward to seeing how his students will perform on the exam. “Its been very clear theyre moving towards digital. Since the pandemic started, theyve been putting the pieces in place to go digital, Klawiter said. “I think that ultimately it’s going to be more beneficial because with systems like Canvas and Google Classroom, students are used to more digital activities and less handwriting activities.”

2-0 win over Ladue puts Lancers in State semifinals

In continuation of the Midwest Field Hockey Tournament, the Lady Lancers have kept the hopes of a State Championship after a 2-0 win on  Nov. 2 against Ladue.

Goals by sophomore Kate Barber and senior Lindsay Carr secured the team a spot in the semifinals which will be played against John Burroughs at John Burroughs on Nov. 4.

With this, the squad is now one of four teams that are continuing postseason competition, including MICDS and Marquette as the winner of each semifinal game will then go on the State title game.

Despite playing 23 games so far this season, the team has yet to face off against Burroughs, whose team is led by the State’s point’s leader Charlotte Martin (89). Barber trails her close at second with 80 overall.

“Since one player doesn’t make the team, we’re going to have to capitalize on their weak points,” senior Shannon Knobloch said. “I think tomorrow we have a really big chance of winning as long as we come out hard and get goals early.”
