On April 8, during the eclipse, librarians, Jane Lingafelter and Robin Van Iwaarden, look at the sun using solar viewers, while on the field. Students and staff spent time on the field during the eclipse. The next partial eclipse in Missouri wont be till 2045.

Social Studies teacher Steve Klawiter will have his AP World History class take the digital exam this May. He said he looks forward to seeing how his students will perform on the exam. “Its been very clear theyre moving towards digital. Since the pandemic started, theyve been putting the pieces in place to go digital, Klawiter said. “I think that ultimately it’s going to be more beneficial because with systems like Canvas and Google Classroom, students are used to more digital activities and less handwriting activities.” 
Nine AP exams will transition to digital format in 2025, additional six in 2026

Hockey bounces back, girls wrestling takes 3rd

Boys Basketball

The Lancers went 0-2 this week. They lost to Lindbergh 56-48, Dec. 5, and to Francis Howell 55-41, Dec. 8. The Lancers will face Marquette, Dec. 15 at home at 7 p.m. Senior John Renken leads the offense averaging 18 points per game. He also leads in defense with 36 rebounds. The Lancers are 1-5  so far this season.

 

Girls Basketball

The Lady Lancers also went 0-2 this week. They lost to Parkway South 66-60 and to Francis Howell 49-26. They will return home to play two games this week. First Oakville Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. and then Marquette Dec. 15 at 5:30 p.m.  Junior Taylor Nania leads the offense in scoring with 70 points and freshman Maria Golfo has 29 rebounds.

 

Hockey

The Lancers went 2-0 this week. They first beat Fort Zumwalt West 2-1 and then beat Lindbergh 3-1. Senior Aidan Nosovitch had a hat trick against Lindbergh. “It was an amazing feeling. I couldn’t have done it alone, it was a complete team effort,” Nosovitch said. The Lancers are 4-3-2. They will take on Oakville Dec. 11 and Fox Dec. 15. 

 

Girls Swimming

The Lady Lancers beat Parkway South 98-87, Dec. 7. They will face Kirkwood at home, Dec. 12 at 4:15 p.m. 

 

Boys Wrestling

Earlier this week, the Lancers beat Lindbergh 68-12 in the special  dual event on the LHS stage. They will travel to Northwest, Dec. 13. Then on Dec. 15 they will travel to Kansas City for the KCI Stampede Invitational. 

 

Girls Wrestling

Earlier this week, the Lady Lancers beat Lindbergh 42-27. The Lady Lancers also placed 3rd at the Francis Howell “Kyle Thrasher” Tournament. Individual top 10 placements included: junior Aaliyah Grammer, 1st; junior Hannah Henderson and senior Maddie Johnson, 2nd; junior Ashlee Dakin, 3rd; senior Toby Goertz, 4th; senior Mera Flores, 5th and sophomore Rory Flores, 6th. They will travel to face Northwest, Dec. 13. Then on Dec. 15 they will travel to Kansas City for the KCI Stampede Invitational.
