On Oct. 14, Lafayette students will start the process of decorating their grade level halls for Homecoming week.

Hall Decorations are a yearly tradition in which each class designs their hall based off of that year’s Homecoming theme. This year, in response to the monster mash dance, the freshman have been given the theme of “Charlie Brown’s Pumpkin Patch,” the sophomore’s theme is “Sleepy  Hollow,” juniors will be having a “Dracula’s Castle” theme, while the seniors will be decorating their hall to fill a “Frankenstein Castle” theme.

“This year we tried to think of the most popular monsters that we could could think of and then give them too the grades. We decided to give the freshman the pumpkin patch because we thought that would be cute,” Taylor Hall, Student Council (STUCO) member and dance chair said.

The halls become available for decoration after school, and the event ends at 7 p.m. for freshmen, sophomores and juniors. The seniors are allowed to stay for a short amount of time longer.

“I’m excited for decorating. especially this year as a senior, we get to stay longer and it will be a lot of fun just bringing together all of our ideas and making the hall festive,” Hall said.
