Hendricks honored with Cornerstone Award
April 30, 2014
Each year Rockwood illuminates the work of a staff member that truly excels in their field with the “Cornerstone Award.”
Nancy Hendricks, librarian, is extremely grateful to be a beholder of the award this year.
2014 is Hendricks’s 16th year as a dedicated Rockwood staff member. Hendricks’s coworkers and friends all agree that she is a true model of all that this honor describes.
“She always comes to work with a smile on her face and seems to know everyone’s name,” Caroline Witt said.
Witt is a substitute librarian at Lafayette and stated that Hendricks deserves the award more than anyone.
Hendricks expressed her extreme gratitude towards receiving the award.
“It is a lot of work to nominate somebody so I’m extremely appreciative of those who nominated me for taking the time to do that,” Hendricks said.
Hendricks stated that she believes nominees for the award must come to work with a good attitude, enjoy working with other people and take a personal interest in the students and those around them.
“It makes me feel really good that I am appreciated at work and to feel valued and know that I’m doing a good thing,” Hendricks said.
The Cornerstone Award recipients will be honored at the ROSE Award Ceremony and Dinner on Sunday, May 4, at the Doubletree Hotel at Westport.

[Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)
