Despite the cancellation of graduation, the Senior Celebration will still be held tonight, May 25th, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. at the Double Tree Hotel in Chesterfield.
Senior Katie Golden shares her reaction to the sudden change in schedule.
“I’m really upset,” she said. “My graduation party is Friday and now it interferes with graduation. I got my hair and nails done all for nothing. Now we have senior night and graduation on different nights? It doesn’t make much sense!”
She continued, “And my work schedule got messed up for Friday. Now I can’t even work opening day at my summer pool because I have to get ready for graduation!”
Senior Shelley Clay shared her opinion on the cancellation as well. Clay said, “I was glad considering I didn’t want to be in a huge building if a tornado hit. But it stinks that we still have celebration even though we haven’t graduated.”
