Each year, Lafayette’s Music Department participates in a Spring Festival. The festival consists of a few judges, who rate the vocal groups and instrumental groups on a scale of 1-5, with 1 being a superior and 5 being poor. Each different class prepares two pieces and then enters a room where they are given a piece of music they have never seen before, and are judged on how well they can read it.
This year the band festival was hosted at Lindbergh High School. Both the Symphonic Band and the Wind Ensemble received an overall rating of superior (1.)
Lafayette hosted the Regional Choir Festival, where the Concert Chorale received a 1, Treble Chorale received 2 and Treble Chamber received a rating of 1.
Lindbergh also hosted the Orchestra Festival, and Lafayette recieved a 1 as well.
