Tuesday Oct. 26, Vox Solus performed their first concert. The new 15-member acapella vocal percussion group has been preparing for this concert since the beginning of school and took much consideration into making their music selections.
The group did vocal arrangements of three songs including, Blackbird by the Beatles, King of Anything by Sarah Bareilles and Jump by Van Halen.
King of Anything, a pop song realeased just this year, was arranged by Special School District aide Tran Trung.
The Jazz Band also performed its first concert of the year. They played four swing pieces. Last year, the group had many seniors, and director Brad Balog was worried about getting enough members to have a decent sized band. However, nine more members were added this year, to create a band of 18.
Both Vox Solus and the Jazz Band are already preparing new pieces for their next concert.
