On May 19, elementary students had the chance to taste a slice of high school competition with the annual elementary track meet.
Schools like Blevins, Ridge Meadows, Woerther, Green Pines, Geggie and Uthoff Valley all gathered to compete with the best of the best at the elementary school level.
The school spirit could be heard from Lafayette’s doors as teams stomped their feet, screamed and cheered for their running mates.
Lafayette students watched and supported as fellow siblings sprinted by on the track, as well as proud parents sat clutching their video cameras in anticipation.
The elementary track meet gives students future high school preparation for the intense level of competition.
