Lafayette’s Community Service class held a canned food drive during Homecoming week this year.
If the school met the Communnity Sevice’s goal of 7,000 cans, the administrators would be hit in the face with pies by students.
Language arts teacher David Choate said, “I don’t have the exact number but it’s somewhere between 6,500 and 7,000 cans.”
The goal was reached, and at the pep assembly some of the building administrators took pies to the face.
“The cans were picked up by Circle of Concern,” Choate said. “They are a charity group that operates as a food pantry, and also helps with financial aid. They are especially in need of donations during this time of year because the Holidays are near.”
“We plan on doing it again next year,” Choate said.
Circle of Concern is currently asking for donations.Visit www.circleofconcern.org for more details.

[Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)
