Humans of Lafayette: Meet Shea Eckert
May 5, 2016
Every once or twice a year people go to see their favorite musician play live in concert. However, for sophomore Shea Eckert, it is a little bit more than that.
“I’ve seen Fifth Harmony ten times, but some of the girls separately more than that,” Eckert said.
Eckert has been a fan of them since when the girls were on X Factor. She is such a big fan that she is willing to go out of state to see Fifth Harmony in person.
“I won a trip to see them in the Bahamas at the Atlantis resort, and we got a whole bunch of pictures together with my best friend Victoria,” Eckert said.
From visiting Fifth Harmony so much, the girls have started following Eckert back on social media sites, such as Twitter. When she goes to see them in another meet and greet, they recognize her right away as one of their number one fans.
“They follow me on Twitter and like some of my pics. It’s cool to see popular people like them take the time to look at their fans’ Twitter pages,” Eckhert said.
Eckert has met and has had a conversation with some of the girls from the group in person and through social media.
“I was on the beach and the song ‘Worth it’ came on and I was like, ‘This is their song!’ and Normani from the group just looked over at me and said, ‘Yeah, it is our song,'” Eckert said.
Eckert hopes to have a better connection with them in the future and is planning on her next trip to visit them in concert over the summer.

[Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)
