Seifert turns dream into reality
February 26, 2015
For many students, playing a sport at a Division One college is a dream they are striving to reach. For senior Madison Seifert, this dream is becoming reality.
“I committed to Pennsylvania State University (PSU) when they presented me with an offer my junior year,” Seifert said.
Seifert was the starting pitcher for LHS and was offered a position to pitch at PSU.
“When I’m not pitching, I love to play first base. I love it almost as much as I love to pitch,” Seifert said.
Softball has been a big part of Seifert’s life for 11 years. Starting at age seven, she played on six teams before she entered high school. During her freshman year she made the varsity softball team right away.
“I play softball for Lafayette in the fall and then I play on a club team until the following high school season. We travel and play local games. I’m always playing softball,” Seifert said.
During her final high school season, Seifert was granted many awards, including Most Valuable Player (MVP) and broke the record for most career wins.
“My favorite thing about softball is when I’m pitching, how each batter is an individual battle and all of it put together creates the win,” Seifert said.

[Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)
