Sometimes, our outfits don’t work as well as we want them to. The top button on your shirt comes off, or the shirt gaps a little more than you remember it did when you walked out of the house earlier that morning, or you bend over and the back seam of your pants rips. These embarrassing situations can’t always be avoided, but with the proper precautions can be made less embarrassing.
First, create a fashion emergency kit. This will keep you prepared for any emergencies.
This kit should include:
· Sewing needles
· Black and white thread
· Extra buttons
· Safety pins
· Transparent two-sided tape
How to sew on a button:
First, thread the needle. Tie a knot in the bottom of the thread. Then, place the button on the fabric where you want the button to be. Start from the underside of the fabric and thread the needle up through a hole in the button. Then push the needle down through the hole opposite the 1st hole. Push the needle up from the bottom again, but this time choosing one of the two unused holes. Then, push the needle down through the hole opposite it. Now, you should have threaded through all 4 holes on the button. Now thread up through the hole you first threaded the needle through. Keep repeating this pattern 3 or 4 times until the button feels secure. Create a thread loop by pushing the needle through a tiny area behind the button, and then pushing the needle again through the same spot, but don’t pull the thread tight. Pull the needle through the thread loop twice and pull tight. Tie a knot near this, and then cut off the extra thread.
How to fix a gapping shirt:
Take a one-inch strip of double-sided adhesive tape and place on the inside of the shirt near the top left side. Take another one-inch strip of adhesive and stick on the upper right inside of the shirt. Press the shirt to your skin with slight pressure.

[Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)
