Fro-yo: A new way to enjoy frozen yogurt

Froyo, the new frozen yogurt concept, is quickly growing in the St. Louis area.

Here’s the set-up:
Customers walk-in and grab an empty cup. There are 10-12 self serve ice-cream machines along a wall, each containing an original flavor of frozen yogurt. After the customer selects the ice cream flavor, there is a salad bar with hundreds of toppings. The choices range from fresh fruits like mango chunks and kiwi, to common favorites like oreo pieces and cookie dough chunks. The customer can then choose whatever they’d like, and put it on themselves. After the ice cream creation is complete, there is a scale to weigh the frozen treat. Customers pay by weight, instead of by bowl size, like typical ice cream shops.

An employee at the Olive Blvd. location, estimated they sell 500 cups of yogurt on the average weeknight, and on the weekends they sell 700+, with past record sales surpassing 1000.

There will also be 2 new locations opening in the near future, although the specific dates have not yet been set. One store will be opening in the Chesterfield Valley and the other will be along Manchester.

Along with a cool concept, the business also boasts that they help give their customers a healthy choice. The yogurt is non-fat, low calorie, and has many other nutritional benefits.

The atmosphere is yet another drawing factor of the shop. The decor is hip and refreshing, and creates a great experience.
